German Solar Farm Cable Connection & Earthing System Project
Client Background
A renewable energy developer in Bavaria, Germany, was constructing a 50MW solar photovoltaic farm. The project required reliable cable connections and earthing systems to ensure long-term performance and grid compliance.
Challenge
Solar installations face unique challenges: large-scale DC cabling, exposed outdoor conditions, and stringent German VDE standards. The client needed corrosion-resistant terminals and a maintenance-free grounding system for 25-year operation.

Our Solution
Wisetree supplied:
Bimetallic Cable Lugs (AU Series): Copper-aluminum transition terminals for inverter connections
Nylon Cable Glands: IP68-rated waterproof sealing for junction boxes
Stainless Steel Cable Ties: UV-resistant fastening for cable management
Braided Copper Flexible Connectors: Stranded copper wires for expansion joint grounding
Earth Rods with Clamp Systems: Deep-driven grounding electrodes
Implementation: Products were shipped to Munich within 3 weeks. Wisetree provided English-German bilingual installation guides and remote technical consultation. Local EPC contractor completed installation in 10 days.
Results:
-
01
All connections tested for 25-year design life
-
02
Earthing system achieved <10Ω resistance (exceeding VDE 0100 requirement)
-
03
Junction boxes passed IP68 waterproof certification
-
04
Project commissioned on schedule, now generating 60GWh annually
